Today, we’re featuring one of our preferred caterers here at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs- Feastivities Events. Like great performers, great caterers are known for their versatility and creativity. The most talented have the ability to play a range of roles with ease: director, producer, confidant, problem solver, and even therapist at times. Feastivities has the experience to be all of those and more for you and your event at The Washington. Whether its a wedding, picnic, client cultivation party, or a special celebration at home with friends and family, Feastivities will help you create new memories.

I spoke with one of Feastivities’ Event Producers, Bernice Cornell, who has been with the company for over 20 years, and works closely with our event venue here in Chester Springs, PA.

Tell us a bit about Feastivities…

“For the past 28 years, our professional and enthusiastic approach has brought clients back again and again. Feastivities clients are confident that we will bring their experience and creativity to the success of each of our events. It is why we have grown to become one of the most trusted catering companies in the tri-state area. Professionalism, creativity, and passion are not just who we are, it’s what we do”.

Does Feastivities have a ‘signature’, or crowd favorite?

“Feastivities Events is known for its unique displays and design work; some of our signature displays are our unique bar set-ups with fruit top bars or our Enchanted Garden. We excel at creating unique designs to fit the overall feel of the reception”.

What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding?

“Planning a wedding can be a very daunting process. You should rely on event professionals that can assist in all areas of planning and have the on-hands experience to advise you in all aspects such as timeline, logistics and of course, seasonal menu planning. I would also recommend having some sort of budget in mind before starting the process and to be honest with your vendors about the budget, when asked. It truly helps your vendors assist you in making educated recommendations and can streamline the process for both you and your potential vendors”.

Are you starting to notice any new trends in the industry?

“Brides and Grooms are much more educated these days with the use of social media, the internet and other publications. Most clients know what they want and most want something different or unique. This is where the individuality comes into play to create a reception that perfectly suit their style”.
